The Open-Minded Community project was founded (in 2001) to foster and advance the bases for positive, practical, healthy, meaningful, long-term, and enriched human relations, the object being to help reinstate the lost element of Mutual Understanding in our world community today, and insofar as possible, eradicate close-mindedness, detrimental self-centredness, human ignorance
and error the abundance of which continue to result in avoidable suffering of unpardonably appalling proportions.
It is not a party house. In most cases, constructive backscenes consultation and discussions take place. The Latin phrase "damnant quod non intelligunt" best represent a key impetus behind The Open-Minded Community. Its meaning is yours to discover. Nevertheless, to suggest this Community challenges individuals to be truly and "positively" open-minded from the outset is no understatement.
The Open-Minded Community is - when all is said and done - all about realising the importance of dealing with indifference and denials within us as the starting point to greater Mutual Understanding and Positive Living. The recognition of the universality of Good, True Brotherliness, Respect & Dignity towards our fellow human being is what I envisioned in founding this Community. I believe that no single denomination, religion, or peoples (whatever their race, creed, or affiliation) holds the monopoly over positive, practical living. And this view/vision cannot be misrepresented by anyone who comes into contact with Our Community.
That is why we seek to learn from each other and in the process, pay humanity and ourselves "the highest tribute," to use the words of Thurgood Marshall. At the Open-Minded Community age, achievement, seniority, wasteful competition whether of intellect or the "I'm-better-than-you" mentality, and similar superficial viewpoints or attitudes are irrelevant, needless, rejected. It is all about practising, fostering, advancing positive influence, humour, and camaraderie. Whatever your confidence or comfort-level (insofar as English as a foreign language, public speaking, participation, or writing), you will find that anything you say is welcomed and when necessary, cordially distilled for the benefit of all Members. Your participation is therefore highly valued and encouraged. Finally, because this is after all the Internet, where irresponsible people unfortunately sometimes thrive in their malicious endeavours, Members are advised to take necessary and sensible precautions to the end that their privacy and persons may be safeguarded and protected at all times.
